Hi all, as discussed at [1], Microsoft's IIS 7.0 comes with an extension (i.e., Smooth Streaming, [2]) that delivers fragments of media content designed for Silverlight-based players. It can deliver media fragments at varying quality levels. They also come with a URI scheme: http://SmoothHD.com/Media.ism/QualityLevels(1024000)/Fragments(video=2000000 0). I did not find the semantics of such a URI, but maybe more information will become available during the release (planned early 2009).
