Hi Anssi, Combined with WASM, video processing could be done on browser smoothly and efficiently. Such as : Face recognition,Video call (video encode/decode),Video Touch up,...., All above, app need to get the raw data of video frame, then different company could do more creative things. Personally, at least the ImageBitMap extension should go forward as part of HTML standard. The spec work stopped since the implementers were no longer working on the feature due to shift in priorities. As said, the spec work could be resumed given further interest to implement.
