Hi everyone, The Proof of Concept group had a productive breakout session today. Three separate groups will be working on proofs of concept: * JP Morgan (project lead Ilya Slavin) will present an enforcement side decision making tool. * Goldman Sachs (project lead Atiq Khan) will produce a PoC focused on automated compliance in the form of an API that can be queried and return usage rights and obligation information. * Refinitiv (project lead Roy Kaplan) will be working in conjunction with Ben to produce a tool that can run a check when setting up a machine account to confirm it's compliant. * DataBP (project lead yours truly) will be supporting the three initiatives by dynamically generating the ODRL contracts needed to demonstrate the different use cases. Ilya will be presenting user stories during next week's community group meeting, Atiq and Roy will present their plans at the following session on the 11th of November. The Refinitiv project is still in the early stages and so are not targeting the end-of-January presentation. Their work will be presented at a later date. The JP Morgan and Refinitiv projects are focused on technical control, while the Goldman Sachs project will have more of an opportunity to show the "human assist" potential. Please find below additional notes from the breakout session. Attendees: Mark Bird Laura Perdue Roy Kaplan Ilya Slavin Michelle Roberts Olga Markus Jeremy Bock Adam Honore David Sawkins Ben Whittam-Smith Atiq Khan Jo Rabin Alex Cravero Fred Schultz Notes Mark: Need someone to generate ODRL (Mark volunteers DataBP to generate) Then, need someone to "do something with ODRL:" - Ilya (JP Morgan) Ingest policy Enforcement side decision making tool Overlay policy with dynamic per user/application permission Group agrees: we should prioritize building out the language to support additional use cases needed for the PoCs. Ben: should we focus on non-display usage types for the PoCs? If so, should we focus our language build out on that? Mark: DataBP can Expose ODRL over API, Ilya: JPMorgan can consume Atiq: Focused on automated compliance An API that we can provide a query to, and then a few usage rights cases - Can show how to license for something if the answer is "no" - Can show obligations when the answer is yes Request to include Michelle, Laura, and Olga in defining the user stories from a business perspective. Ben: A utility to check compliance when we set up a machine account to confirm it's compliant (provisioning). Roy: Refinitiv working on a machine account provisioner. Not sure about timing for PoC. Ilya, Roy, Atiq to lead their PoC group. Each PoC thread will prepare a user story and present it to the group by Oct 28 - Too aggressive for Roy, probably need a few weeks, can't commit to weekly updates - Atiq says he needs 2 weeks Ilya to present to broader group on Oct 28 Roy & Atiq to present to broader group on Nov 11
