I'd like some help in identifying and defining the underlying resources that permissions control. Here are some examples: * The Eurodollar Futures Contract from the CME * Xetra Ultra from the Deutsche Boerse So we're talking about pricing and trading data for financial instruments. Together, they form a dataset, and a resource. It's the thing that providers distribute, permissions control, and consumers use. What can we say about them? * The data is generated by a trading Venue. In the case of the Eurodollar futures contract it's Globex, which we can identify with a MIC code: GLBX. For Xetra Ultra, it's Xetra with the MIC code XETR. But the Eurodollar futures contract is also linked to Clearport and Open Outcry. Q1: Are these also venues - or something else? The don't have MIC codes. Do we ever need to identify them? * We can identify the asset class generating the pricing data. For Xetra it's equities. Q2: For the Eurodollar futures contract, can we simply say derivatives? * We can identify its content nature: Dynamic, Static, Static End-of-Day, Static Reference, and Historical. Both of our examples are dynamic. Q3: Are these terms both clear and complete? * We can identify the originators of the data using Refinitiv's open, permanent identifiers: https://permid.org/1-4295899615 for the CME https://permid.org/1-4298007872 for DBAG * We could talk about depth of market (levels 1, 2, and 3); delivery of updates (one-shot; streaming; time series); sampling frequency (sampled; tick-by-tick). Q4: If we did, what would we say about our two examples? (I don't see anything of relevance in the licenses and product descriptions.) Q5: In the case of the Deutsche Boerse, can we use any of these properties (and the timeliness of delivery) to distinguish between the Premium, Ultra, and Core product groups? * There are no universally-scoped identifiers (aka URIs) for these resources that we could simply point to. Q6: Should there be; could there be; will there be? Q7: Is there anything else we should be capturing in our description of these two resources? Many thanks, Ben
