Side Event of AAL Forum 2013 <http://www.aalforum.eu/>

September 24, 2013 - Norrköping, Sweden <https://maps.google.at/maps?client=ubuntu&channel=cs&ie=UTF8&q=Louis+De+Geer+Konsert+%26+Kongress&fb=1&gl=at&hq=Louis+De+Geer+Konsert+%26+Kongress&hnear=Louis+De+Geer+Konsert+%26+Kongress&cid=0,0,4419423009996130955&ll=58.588053,16.184943&spn=0.006295,0.006295&t=h&iwloc=A&source=embed>

Scope and Goals

The workshop focuses on theoretical and practical aspects of modeling the relevant contexts of solutions for Ambient Assisted Living: task context, personal context, environmental context, social context, and spatio-temporal context. Special attention will be paid to "open models". Such models can be freely accessed according to the principles of "open source", are broadly understood and may be further developed.

The workshop aims at bringing together people from academia and practice for discussing on-going projects and open research questions in the field of modeling in AAL. Thus, it will be a platform for exchanging ideas and initiating new co-operations and projects.

The discussions will be heated-up by short impulse talks (10-15 min each) and refined in working sections. Best AAL-related practices in using (meta) modeling tools will be illustrated using ADOxx exemplarily.

Questions to be discussed are, among others: which modeling method may be useful for which purpose, how can the requirements of the end users be met by using modeling techniques and how to relate modeling tools to common AAL standards.
