Greetings all,
I was reviewing the November 4 Note version of the Assessment Tool and discovered that we have some issues that needs to be addressed.
1. Overall formatting of the template has changed.
* The cell shading for the Status and Justification columns is missing
* The subtopic proofpoint category cells with the proofpoints underneath them were reverse contast have been deleted from column A and now located in a brand new column B in plain text.
* In the document, we have descriptor cells that contain a topic area for proofpoints that follow, and in some cases a cell that leads into and completes the thought for several proofpoints below it, but the current formatting makes it appear that these area all separate proofpoints which is not correct, and results in incomplete information if taken separately.
Here is an example of the text taken from our published document version:
3.1.2.2 Accessible Direct Communication
* Consistent use of accessible templates for:
* marketing and sales materials delivered in electronic formats
* technical documents or position papers
* Product Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs<https://www.w3.org/TR/maturity-model/#dfn-acr>)
* other accessibility documentation
* presentations.
* Internal and external websites:
* are accessible per regional regulatory requirements (e.g. conforms to WCAG)
* may have an accessibility statement (legal requirement for websites for public sector bodies in the European Union)
* may contain a statement of commitment to accessibility.
* Products and services: accessibility compliance documentation is available and delivered in an accessible format (on the website, by request, or through the procurement process)
* Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACR<https://www.w3.org/TR/maturity-model/#dfn-acr>)
* accessibility statement(a legal requirement for websites for public sector bodies in the European Union)
* other accessibility-related documents, as identified.
* multimedia, such as captions, transcripts, and described audio, if needed
* social media and blog content
* customer and vendor training
* information on customer<https://www.w3.org/TR/maturity-model/#dfn-customer> support
* feedback mechanism for handling questions and accessibility complaints
* legal documents, payment and billing
* other communications, as identified.
Now, here is a screenshot of the same Paragraph proofpoints as copied from published spreadsheet:
MISSING MAIN DESCRIPTOR AND NOT A PROOFPOINT : Consistent use of accessible templates for:

Accessible Direct Communications
Technical documents or position papers
Accessible Direct Communications
Product Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs)
Accessible Direct Communications
Other accessibility documentation
Accessible Direct Communications
Presentations

are accessible per regional regulatory requirements (e.g. conforms to WCAG)
THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE PROOFPOINT STATEMENT “Internal and external websites:”
may contain a statement of commitment to accessibility
THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE PROOFPOINT STATEMENT “Internal and external websites:”
THIS IS THE MAIN DESCRIPTOR AND NOT A PROOFPOINT: Products and services: accessibility compliance documentation is available and delivered in an accessible format (on the website, by request, or through procurement process)
Internal and external websites:
NOT TIED TO THE MAIN DESCRIPTOR SO NO ACTION VERB: Accessibility conformance reports (ACR)
Internal and external websites:
NOT TIED TO THE MAIN DESCRIPTOR SO NO ACTION VERB: Accessibility statement (legal requirement for websites for public sector bodies in the European Union)
Internal and external websites:
Per the heighted area above, these proofpoints make no sense without the initial part of the sentence (or bullet) in this case ”Internal and external websites”, or the main thought : Products and services: accessibility compliance documentation is available and delivered in an accessible format (on the website, by request, or through procurement process)” is not the proofpoint but rather the sub bullets below are.
I am also including what I think was the last version of the tool before all the sync updates were made as a reference. I think that the usability and readability of this format was better.
1. In other dimensions, the main proofpoint sub topics (now shown in Column B ) are missing for some proofpoints

User Experience
1. In the document….
* In the beginning of the proofpoint Section 3.7.2 Support, there is a long list of proofpoints without subcatagories , followed by the subcatagoried proofpoints which are duplicates of uncatagorized proofpoints above. This needs to be resolved.
1. In the tool sub catagoriy 3.7.2.4 “Trainin Program” bullet is missing.
1. Proof point “Mechanism to capture Accessibility feedback in place” under Organizational Support is missing.
There may be other issues as well that I did not see as this was not a through analysis, I thnk we need to add my concerns to the next meeting agenda so we can discuss.
