Re: Collection of examples suggestion

Hi Daniel, all,

Just a quick introduction: I’m Silvio Peroni, Researcher at the University of Bologna, and one of the developers of the Research Articles in Simplified HTML (RASH) format [1], which is a HTML-based language for writing scholarly papers that have been already adopted in a few academic events [2]. While I think I’m not directly interested in the technicalities behind representing mathematics on the Web, I’m *very* interested in the tools for doing that so as to integrate mathematical formulas in the RASH format and to handle them in its Framework (i.e., in conversion tools).

Currently, the RASH format implements three different ways for creating mathematical formulas – with images, with SVG, and with LaTeX (via MathJax) – as introduced in “Section 5.3: Formula Boxes” in the RASH documentation [3].

At this stage, I don’t think we are ready to provide a solution but rather collect the existing know-how of the members. That’s the reason I would prefer as many ways to do math as possible.

To this end, I have two papers (not a large number, I apologise, but real academic submissions including mathematics) accepted to the SAVE-SD workshop that actually used MathML:

http://cs.unibo.it/save-sd/2016/papers/html/salatino-savesd2016.html
http://cs.unibo.it/save-sd/2015/papers/html/gentile-savesd2015.html

I hope it may help.

Have a nice day :-)

S.
