It was a relatively small and short meeting as many people were busy the
last few weeks and so updates on topics were limited.

TPAC & Charter

   Meeting report/feedback

NS: Had TPAC call Thursday (October 29, 2020).  About 46 people on the
call.  It went well.



   -

   Moving the charter forward

NS: No new comments on charter.

DC: PI’s edits have not yet been checked in.  NS: should check with him.

DC: Make a pull request to send charter to the W3C. That likely triggers
the charter request.

NS: I’ll check the W3C docs to make sure.

NS: Consensus: make a working group by January 1, 2021.

menclose polyfill. Everything is working except arrows (which are
technically ‘optional’).

NS: There is a wiki page for the polyfills

that lists what is needed and what has been implemented. Most things are
done although I may try to reimplement elementary math using grid layout
instead of an HTML table. That would be less destructive to the DOM. The
bigger remaining ones are mstyle, mtable attrs, and script shifts.

NS: Need to set up automated testing for these.  He will need help.

Other Items



MS: resolved problem of MI with ‘sin’ in it for handling selection in
Office.

JAWS is not using MathML to communicate with documents.

OMML is used by JAWS instead of MathML.

OMML is difficult to read.

NS: MathPlayer says MathML is a tree, and can do depth searches. Branches
and leaves have numbers.

NS: MI may not be ascii all the time.

BS: Unresolved areas needing decisions should be sent to the WG.
