Minimal notes as the discussion was detailed -- best to listen to the recording… The meeting was recorded: https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/share/ltsGJuCiBCGjZzOXK3_XKVOz5whkm4AkONizEEpB4DcIvYuIzUtAZ36og6WBClDU.qQyYN2DSi1Lrj2Vl Passcode: KN?FU1D7 Attendees: Neil Soiffer Louis Maher Bruce Miller David Carlisle Deyan Ginev Steve Noble David Farmer Sam Dooley Matthew Scroggins Patrick Ion Murray Sargent Agenda: 1. Any updates? - Deyan is finishing a first draft of level 3 ~next week, state of the list available at the “Level 3” sheet of the following google sheet, feel most welcome to add/comment/change, will remain editable later as well: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EsWou1K5nxBdLPvQapdoA9h-s8lg_qjn8fJH64g9izQ/edit?usp=sharing - The PR for the charter was accepted (it was an update incorporating outsiders comments on the charter). Still hope the charter goes up for a vote in early January. 2. Sam will finish(?) an update on his ideas for explicit and default values for intent: See https://mathml-refresh.github.io/mathml/docs/intent.html <https://eur04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fmathml-refresh.github.io%2Fmathml%2Fdocs%2Fintent.html&data=04%7C01%7C%7C1e5e84c64eee40413b2c08d8967f9fda%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637424822167828924%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=7jKY%2BWxC90PEtW%2B6HDJHK%2BAgmBgYxCNGUqFYStygHYE%3D&reserved=0> SD: Sam discusses updates to his Intent document. NS: Wants to get rid of the @ operator to search through the children SD: Added @ignore, @append, @extend ...Matrices and other 2D use the later two -- added to the document ...Discussed examples added to the document for those cases NS: real example needs context -- are there ()s, ||s, etc around it? DG: I don’t think array/arrayrow is right as a default -- the presentation is good enough to be read by AT BM: I’m not sure the “@” notation is right. Lots of discussion on defaults for mtable/mtr/mtd and whether they depend on context NS: what should happen with special forms like diagonal matrices, tridiagonal, triangular forms, etc? SD: moving onto equation arrays -- 2 equations with alignment SD: also example with linebroken equation across two rows and aligned Discussion of ‘parsing’ and mrows. Appending, extending, merging, etc., discussed. DG: add some directional ideas: extend-next, extend-right, … MS: why use eqnarrays vs aligngroups and alignmark. DC: aligngroup/alignmark never got implemented in browsers and won’t be implemented Neil: Request for Comments -- we seem to have a lot of active ideas on the table markup related to @list and @extend, please read the doc and send feedback to Sam before the next week. Neil: Will invite Moritz for next week to discuss microdata solutions as an alternative to MathML attributes We meet again next week and the following week and then will take a couple of weeks off for the holidays.
