Hi Jim, Wayne, Alastair, and all, Jim. could you please add GitHub Issue #433 to our next LVTF agenda? It is titled "Failure technique F87 contradicts the Accessible name and desc algorithm". https://github.com/w3c/wcag/issues/433 The Failure Technique in question is: F87: Failure of Success Criterion 1.3.1 due to inserting non-decorative content by using :before and :after pseudo-elements and the 'content' property in CSS https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20-TECHS/F87.html The person who filed the issue would like "updating this technique to say something like 'whereas CSS content can be used to communicate helpful information about an element it should not be used for essential information" altogether. or to drop it.'" The AG working group would like LVTF input as to the impact this would have. Wayne and everyone else who uses user style sheets, your thoughts and use cases to keep the failure would be appreciated. Tuesday's AG meeting minutes: https://www.w3.org/2018/07/31-ag-minutes.html#item09 Alastair's comment on the issue: https://github.com/w3c/wcag/issues/433#issuecomment-408877292 Thank you. Kindest Regards, Laura -- Laura L. Carlson
