In a discussion today the topic of updating techniques came up. There are
many techniques for meeting SC (old and new) that focus on one
disability/assistive technology at the detriment of other
disability/assistive technology.
off screen text is an example. helps screen readers, nobody else can see it
or get to it (eg. ascii art, emoticons, font icons)
LVTF will likely be reviewing these types of techniques.
If/when the techniques are rewritten, I thought how will anyone know that
techniques have been changed. I am not aware of how these are announced to
the community at large. If there are mechanisms in place, then ignore the
rest.
Perhaps, AG could use the supplemental document to call out techniques that
have been created or updated for ALL SCs in addition to all of the other
things the Supplemental Doc is supposed to address.
