Dear all, An interesting article posted on academia.edu https://www.academia.edu/125033527/Why_the_Shroud_of_Turin_is_not_a_Medieval_Work_An_Argument_Map?email_work_card=abstract-read-more brought my attention to argument maps, the development of computer-supported argument visualization and its use in artificial intelligence. What in particular tickled my interest is the creation of standards like AIF-RDF, LKIF and Argdown. What I would like to find out is if generalized argument mapping tools can be used in combination with LLMs to falsify hypotheses. One currently hot debate concerns the question of consciousness as a hard problem and what constitutes AGI. It should be possible IMHO to create argument maps and through LLM modeling check whether an argument holds or not by feeding all available literature on the subject into an argument mapping based tool. Right now billions of dollars are being poured into Generative AI based on LLMs and so-called AGI. Using AI to sort out which paths of AI and AGI development make the most sense would be extremely helpful, in particular for the AI tools needed to help solve global problems impacting mankind, the planet and for which time for action is fast running out.
