call to host ISWC2025

*** Apologies if you have received this post more than once ***

The Semantic Web Science Association (SWSA) [1] is seeking statements of interest from organisations or consortia interested in hosting the 23rd International Semantic Web Conference, ISWC 2025. The conference series moves between the Americas, Europe, and the Asia/Pacific region. For the 2025 edition, we will accept bids from all locations, but we will give preference to bids from the Asia/Pacific region. We expect the conference to take place in October/November 2025.

Organisations wishing to host should contact Prof Elena Simperl (elena.simperl@kcl.ac.uk<mailto:elena.simperl@kcl.ac.uk>), who will work with the SWSA members to coordinate the bidding process. Any organisation may apply to host the conference, but the local organising committee must include a representative of a local research group undertaking research relevant to the conference.

The bidding process consists of two stages. During the first stage, SWSA solicits the statements of interest through an open call. The expressions of interest should be submitted using the statement of interest form [2].

Once the first phase is complete, SWSA will shortlist a number of applications, which will be invited to submit a full proposal, using a standard form [3] and budget template [4]. The shortlisted applications will be expected to make a presentation (remotely) during the annual SWSA meeting, which is due to be held around the same time as ISWC2023 in November 2023. SWSA will make the decision on the 2025 host at that meeting.

More information about the ISWC Conference Series and the bidding process can be found in the ISWC Hosting Guide [5].

The important dates for applying to host ISWC2025 are:
* September 1st, 2023: Deadline for receiving statements of interest.
* September 8th, 2023: Notifications to shortlisted bids are sent out.
* September 29, 2023: Formal applications received from shortlisted bids.
* November 2023: Presentation of the bid at the (virtual) SWSA meeting.
