I hereby want to float the idea to create customizable, downloadable PDF format email newsletters for W3C mail list subscribers and in particular for W3C Community Group members. Most subscribers and w3c community group members must deal with many streams of data and information on a daily basis. The number of mailing lists and W3C community groups has grown so large, that it becomes virtually impossible to filter through all the info of the lists and community groups. I think there is room for at least two categories of customizable news letters. One for announcements and info about conferences, workshops, meetings etc and one for news on published reports and activities of W3C community groups. The additional advantage of user customizable PDF newsletters is that they can also be used to make the information available to external news, professional and industry covering sites, which benefits the W3 and community groups. And for the community groups it improves collaboration, information sharing, and eliminates time spent on activities which overlap or which in essence could be combined for synergy.
