> (client-side) Web augmentation relies on gleaning the meaning of page elements, in order to automatically enhancing the webpage with all sorts of features (some simple examples: making phone numbers on the page "callable" via Skype; looking for a listed product on other web shops). True, but this might still be done with a separate representation; the phone number etc. will all be recognizable (but it becomes indeed more/unnecessarily difficult). > this becomes a trivially simple issue (disregarding issues with ontology heterogeneity, etc.). Perhaps not "trivially", because you have to modify a page's UI. Maybe it already had an action on the phone number. I had a great extensions some years back that would extract microdata from pages and make it usable (we're not seeing enough of that anymore). However, the UI was separate, i.e., a menu with actions on the items on the page. Best, Ruben
