Researcher and Lecturer - Fully Funded PhD Scholarship NEW MEDIA TECHNOLOGY

The Department of New Media Technology at MODUL University Vienna, a
research-oriented private university located on a hill overlooking the City
of Vienna, Austria, is seeking PhD Candidates with a strong research
background and the required skills to teach information and communication
technology at the undergraduate level. The fully funded PhD Scholarship
covers four years to conduct doctoral research leading to a dissertation.

We are looking for researchers with a passion for big data applications,
user experience design and novel solutions to challenging problems in
information management, visual analytics and Web intelligence. Relevant
research areas include business intelligence, decision support,
communication success metrics, sustainability communication, knowledge
extraction, semantic systems, human-computer interaction, and information
visualization. You will pursue your PhD in a fast-paced and innovative
research environment, collaborating with international organizations as part
of high-profile showcases such the Media Watch on Climate Change [1], the
U.S. Climate Resilience Toolkit - a Webby Awards 2015 Nominee [2], and the
UNEP Live Platform [3].

Essential formal qualifications include a completed Master degree (by
September 2016) in the social or economic sciences, information systems,
computer science, business informatics, or a related discipline. We also
expect excellent written and spoken English (German is not a requirement).
