The Insight Centre for Data Analytics at NUI Galway (www.insight-centre.org<http://www.insight-centre.org>), Ireland is looking for an excellent post-doctoral researcher with a PhD in computer science to work with its Information Mining and Retrieval Group (UIMR). The successful candidate will focus on research challenges in Linked-Data Analytics, Web Mining, Web Science, Graph/Network Analytics and Databases, Event Detection, Machine Learning (in the context of Linked-Data and Graph Analytics), Adaptive Search and Recommender Systems; Some of the challenges currently being investigated are:

  * Novel approaches to Social Network Analysis and Graph Mining on heterogeneous networks to uncover dependent concepts, labels,

latent relationships and for causality exploration

  * Scalable and interpretable user/group role analysis and modelling

  * Graph-based real-time recommendation approaches using Linked Data as a source of open background data

  * Spatio-temporal correlation analysis on changes to network structure to predict events, churn, community formation

  * Stream-computing models for mining massive heterogeneous graphs - for example graphs combining social and linked-data

  * Hybrid knowledge graph mining techniques combining statistical and logic, inductive and deductive approaches

You should have a PhD related to one of the above topics and have publications in top-ranked conferences/journals. The Insight Centre and the UIMR group provide a supportive open environment for creative thinking and making, collaboration and team work.
