Btw, I suggest using schema:about instead, if we're using schema.org in general. Yes, I think we need reasonably universal predicates here, and voad:linkPredicate may be the one. Sure, it's not a technical problem, but, while it may be fragile, in a WebApp if I see an IRI as an object, but not a subject, the logic is clearer to dereference it to get a subject. If it is already a subject (even if just having foaf:primaryTopic or void:linkPredicate) you might assume that you've already done such a retrieval. Is this really about managing reified triples? Why not just publish documents containing :knows links between me and my friends? The documents can of course be collections, paginated and so on. But that's a dataset partitioning mechanism (using linked documents), orthogonal from the links between me and my friends. Conflating this seems to cause the problems we're having here. I think it would be logical to make the relationship explicit between the primary subject and each member of a list. This may have been eliminated in examples for brevity. What is troubling though is when the thing described is conflated with a description of it. That always causes problems. Just keep them separate and link them together (using e.g. schema:about, rdfs:seeAlso, iana:describedby), and we can partition descriptions using all the REST mechanisms we want.) In real-world situations with organizations coming from a different perspective, theory often clashes with practicality. The "lesser of two evils" dictum would be to first make sure that something gets published, even if it is semantically fuzzy.
