RE: Status quo of semantic web and linked data plugins and extensions for popular web browsers

Yes, I noticed this too.

My personal experience has been that my Semantic Web extension to Firefox:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/semantic-turkey

a Knowledge Management and Acquisition framework with the UI based on
Firefox, after being originally added in 2009 (and present in 2010), has
subsequently always been enormously delayed in the reviews of the following
versions, with it resulting always outdated with respect to the latest
Firefox version. The situation has further worsened with delays translating
into rejections when Firefox security policies have (practically) banned
java from Firefox.

Though in theory possible to keep java connected components, they made me
realize it was better to remove the java bridge and keep the java part
independent. Now, after changing this aspect, I am waiting from 4 months the
review to the last version, and my (again outdated) published extension has,
in the meanwhile, vanished from the firefox extension search engine.

I know my one may be a very specific case, this is just my experience report
fitting the trend change you mentioned, and, btw, I used to know other 3-4
semantic web based extensions requiring the same bridge to interface with
popular java libraries (PiggyBank was one of these.).

Cheers,

Armando

Subject: Status quo of semantic web and linked data plugins and extensions
for popular web browsers

i use several popular web browsers and to my dismay e.g. FireFox supports
LESS plugins than used to in 2010 for use with linked data and semantic web
technologies.

Is there any list or website which lists all plugins and extensions for
linked data and the semantic web which lists which browsers and which
versions of these browsers support these?
