[Apologies for cross-posting] The Chilean Center for Semantic Web Research is looking for two outstanding PhD candidates to work on foundational and/or applied aspects of Semantic Web data management. The PhD positions are fully funded, and they are available for 4 years starting on August 1st, 2014. The candidates are expected to have a master degree (or equivalent) in computer science or computer engineering, proven interest in doing research on Semantic Web data management, and good written and oral English skills. Excellent candidates are invited to apply with a motivation letter containing information on their background and interests, full curriculum vitae, copies of degree certificates and transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. The Chilean Center for Semantic Web Research is based within the Departments of Computer Science at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and the University of Chile. These two departments are leaders in scientific research and science education in Chile, as well as in Latin America, with strong Ph.D. and M.Sc. programs. The Center is composed of 8 full-time faculty members from these two departments, who are recognized as world-class researchers in the database and Semantic Web areas, and who do research in a wide variety of foundational and applied subjects related to Semantic Web data management.
