There are quite a few tasks which simply cannot be performed adequately without a very accurate pointing device or physical keyboard and a large screen.

In addition the use of touchscreen devices is a severe problem to approximately 1.5-3 percent of the average population because of electrical hypersensitivity issues.

Like with cell phones initially everyone denied outright that cell phones could cause damage to the human body. The Scandinavian countries now have very stringent legislation in place.

Because of what I do for a living, I see quite a bit of technology assessment reports including those of health issues related to (new) technologies.

Again if you perform specialized tasks a tablet or smart phone is not suited, just try creating advanced visual graphics e.g. for use as web graphics, maps or presentations.

Anyone in advertising and graphic design will agree. Advanced engineering requires workstations for a myriad of control and design functions. For things like social media, email, VOIP and interactive communications, online collaboration, internet browsing, searching and online shopping tablets and smart phones are OK, For everything else, well we need the keyboard and a pointing device and a large screen to work with

Hello Milton,

I am myself an Android phone user, and though I'm not a developer, I had taken for granted that the Android platform enabled the creation of highly connected applications, through 3G/4G or Wifi, using HTTP.

The application can be coded in some kind of Java or even HTML5/CSS3.

In short, could you please explain further "tablets and smart phones are not suitable for a wide array of software development and ICT specialized services."?
