Hi, This is a huge step forward for the open data on Web community that goes well beyond just giving 'air cover' to mid level managers in US Gov't who are trying to do the right thing to publish open data on the Web for easier access & re-use. This is huge. The actual Presidential Executive Memo.[1] To the agents of change & international community that has helped supported this effort, as it truly a worldwide effort, a huge thanks & congratulations. IMO, this begins of the real flurry of activity to realize the benefits of working with government stakeholders to help publish a mountain of data that can be turned into valuable information to spur innovation & growth.
