Getting access to RDF data

Hello,
I am new to this project and I was wondering if what I am trying to do is
also related to what you are doing or not. I would like to convert several
data sets from the UCI Machine learning repository to RDF data based on
some ontology that I defined.
I have two questions at this point:
1. does the lod project provide free RDF data for research purposes similar
to what UCI repository is providing?
http://archive.ics.uci.edu/ml/datasets/Adult

2. If not, then I might be able to contribute to this project having done
the mapping from csv, data, or arff extensions.
