An agency is urgently looking to fill this contractor role, if interested give me a reply off list and I'll pass you on. *IMMEDIATE START* INTERVIEW SLOTS CONFIRMED* Senior Java (Semantic web) developer - 6 months - London - Publishing - £Competitive (400+ FOR the right candidate) We are now looking for software engineers to join their Agile team of Java, Scala, XML developers to help the apply Linked Data technologies such as RDF, SPARQL, and Jena and to maintain a production dataset. Ideally you will have a strong interest in general web principles, and may also have knowledge of graph databases, and possibly RDF triplestores. A particular interest in managing large volumes of data will help us in our mission to store and retrieve content efficiently. By joining the company, you will be expected to adapt to and help drive continuous change and improvement within the team. You will also be able to demonstrate the required skills: • extensive experience of Java • knowledge of triplestore and/or graphstores, semantic technologies, RDF and SPARQL • knowledge of NoSQL/BigData stores (e.g. MarkLogic) • experience in web servers (Jetty), OSGi, Apache Camel, XML, RESTful Web Services, JUnit and Mockito • knowledge of Scala • experience of continuous delivery and distributed version control systems • a good understanding of software development methodologies The successful candidate must: • have strong technical ability in the field of web development • write high quality code • delight in having an intimate understanding of the internal workings of a system • be comfortable talking about design, code and the requirements that shape it • enjoy the intellectual challenge of creatively overcoming or circumventing limitations • have a great desire to learn, share knowledge and crave constructive criticism • Have experience in mentoring
