And since we are working in a self organising system, these applications have to be designed so that every use grows the value of the network, and creates incentives for correct data to be published, and maintained. This is the crux of the matter! For example, Data Wikis, I know the first time TimBL attempted a demo of the aforementioned there were way too many blank stares in the room :-) In the Information Space dimension, content Wikis have worked wonders and are inherently viral. Thus, we can pull the same thing off in the Data Space dimension via Linked Data if more parties could just work together, a little better. Here's a simple example of what I mean re. collaboration: Entity A (an Agent i.e., person or org.) is very good at data access matters. Entity B (a similar agent) is very good at UI. Today, entities A and B spend too much energy attacking what each perceives as a short coming in the others effort without realizing that each has a specific focus and skill set. Worst of all, these entities don't realize that via Linked Data they could be perfect partners just by playing to their respective strengths leveraging LINKs to structured data as the critical glue. -- Regards, Kingsley Idehen President& CEO OpenLink Software Web: http://www.openlinksw.com Weblog: http://www.openlinksw.com/blog/~kidehen Twitter/Identi.ca: kidehen
