Re: SPARQL servers used in the LOD Cloud

I found this list of endpoints very useful! Thanks!

It also reminded me of two relevant notes covering different RDF
Databases solutions:

[1] http://weblog.clarkparsia.com/2010/09/23/the-rdf-database-market/
[2] http://esw.w3.org/LargeTripleStores (possibly a bit outdated)

Based on these notes (mainly [1]), I would have expected by now in a
sample of 117 SPARQL endpoints, perhaps some presence of Oracle,
AllegroGraph, BigData, or OWLIM RDF Databases and yet, there is none.

Which made me wonder:

* Are there some features (particularly important in the LOD
Community), that are driving the selection criteria for a specific RDF
Database vs. another? Or in a broader sense, are there some notes
available regarding a generic selection criteria for RDF Databases in
the context of LOD?

* And also, are there some known examples of RDF data repositories
using the mentioned RDF Databases with no apparent representation in
the LOD Cloud (Oracle, AllegroGraph, BigData, or OWLIM)?
