Let's lobby :) Hear hear! :) Still, those statements at [1] indicates that this might need some further discussion.. My gut feeling is that if IANA servers are hit with requests for [2]:s anyhow (a reasonable effect of those already being specified), a 303 to something off-site (e.g. purl.org) wouldn't put much more strain on them. And would be so very beneficial to the linked data web (which should use caching of anything central anyway; for a long time).
