Geonames oddities

I was looking at geonames the other day... If you look at the RDF for England:

> you'll see it has a parentFeature relationship that points to UK (fair enough).

But, the childrenFeatures relationship then points to an RDF file

that contains a list of features. This seems (to me) to be a very odd way of doing things? Anyone else?
