does anyone else expect/hope that the "Linked Data" part of "dereferenceable Linked Data URIs " implies that these URIs will be linked up to, for instance, dbPedia, umbel, musicbrainz, etc etc? otherwise it wouldn't really be "linked data" per se, no? also, does this imply a more sophisticated disambiguation service (cambridge mass usa or cambridge uk?) than Calais currently offers? anyway, if this is the direction that Calais is going, it'll make their service so much more useful, i think... best-- --cs ________________________________ From: public-lod-request@w3.org [mailto:public-lod-request@w3.org] On Behalf Of Paul Miller Sent: 23 September 2008 13:22 To: Kingsley Idehen Cc: public-lod@w3.org Subject: Re: New Calais proxy could grow Linked Data Cloud >From the post... I ask specifically because URIs (of the dereferencable variety) are missing in action. Hopefully, I am completely overlooking something here :-) We tend to use the term "Proxy" or "Wrapper" to describe solutions in the Linked Data realm that generate dereferencable URIs based RDF graphs (aka. Linked Data Spaces) "on the fly" via RDF-ization middleware. If possible, please encourage the OpenCalais folks (Tom et al.) to respond to my comments above via a response to this post.
