Hi Hugh, > Trying to understand exactly what is going on, from your post and the > blog... > If someone has made class-level assertions of equivalence (in some way), you > represent it. > Yup; we made a link between the two "ontology bubbles". First of all, we don't represent *class equity* (sameAs between two classes in OWL-Full) in the first version of this cloud. > If there are owl:sameAs assertions between instances of an UMBEL class and > instances of another class, then you make a link of the classes. > > No. First, this cloud is not about the linkage between umbel and other classes. It is about linkage between classes of ontologies used to instantiate individuals belonging to datasets of LOD. We only display linkages based on 4 predicates: owl:equivalentClass, rdfs:subClassOf, umbel:superClass, umbel:isAligned. > So this means that if there are owl:sameAs assertions between instances of > two non-UMBEL classes, you do not (yet?) represent that? > No there is none. This cloud is at the "class-level", and not at the "instance-level" So, we do explicit the linkage between all the ontologies classes that are used to instantiate individuals belonging to the LOD datasets. UMBEL is one of them, but many linkage between non-umbel ontologies also appears! Thanks! Take care, Fred
