LOD Projects featured heavily in New Scientist article on SemWeb

Hi all,

Firstly thanks to all who came to the LOD BOF this evening here in Tenerife; and thanks to Michael for getting the ball rolling (and also producing the best geek poster I've seen in a while).

On another note, people might be interested to see that LOD projects such as DBpedia, the Marbles browser (that was presented recently at the LDOW2008 workshop) and Revyu, as well as data publishers such as the BBC are mentioned in an article in this week's edition of New Scientist. The title "Birth pangs for the 'semantic web" slightly belies the upbeat nature of the article, which gives a pretty nicely balanced account of the SemWeb from a non-SemWebby perspective.

The article is accessible via http://technology.newscientist.com/article/mg19826585.800-birth-pangs-for-the-semantic-web.html?DCMP=ILC-hmts&nsref=news7_head_mg19826585.800
although unfortunately you'll need to pay for it or buy a regular paper copy.

Cheers,

Tom.
