The Cataloguing and Indexing Group in Scotland is delighted to be hosting the
above seminar at the National Library of Scotland.  
 
The seminar will introduce the concept of linked data, explore its use in
library catalogues, and describe a future where names, concepts, subjects and
other metadata components can be seamlessly and authoritatively linked across
cyberspace.

14.30               The work of the W3C Library Linked Data Incubator Group, and
the Open Knowledge Foundation / William Waites, Open Knowledge Foundation
15.10               Current initiatives in developing library linked data at the
National Library of Scotland, IFLA, and elsewhere / Gordon Dunsire
15.45               Panel discussion

The seminar will take place on Friday 17th June at the National Library of
Scotland, George IV Bridge, Edinburgh – see

VAT) and includes refreshments and a sandwich lunch.
