ldp-ISSUE-53 (RepresentationsToBots): Which Content Types should be returned to bots? [Linked Data Platform core] http://www.w3.org/2012/ldp/track/issues/53 Raised by: David Wood On product: Linked Data Platform core This issue was raised by James Leigh on the public-ldp mailing list: http://www.w3.org/TR/2013/WD-ldp-20130307/#http-get says: 4.2.3 LDPR servers may provide representations of the requested LDPR beyond those necessary to conform to this specification, using standard HTTP content negotiation. If the client does not indicate a preference, text/turtle must be returned. Googlebot (and many other crawlers) have an accept header of */*. Many LDP implementations will want to return HTML for google (and others) to index. However, section 4.2.3 (above) indicates that Turtle should be sent to googlebot. I think this section should be removed.
