Annotation telcos, again

Dear all,

after some time of silence, I'm happy to announce that we can now take up
the telco series on consolidating linguistic annotations, again.
Apologies, I have been less available lately, this was unforeseen, and
basically kept me away from moderating (any) telcos. However, Thierry
Declerck volunteered as co-moderator, and together, we can return to a
regular rhythm of telcos.

I would like to thank Thierry, who would bring in his earlier work in the
context of ISO and language resources in general, as well as ties to
numerous national and international projects, both on-going and in the
past, for his support in that, and welcome him as co-moderator.

As for our harmonization telcos, it is, in fact, very much necessary to
take them up again, right now, because the LD4LT meeting on harmonizing
linguistic annotations that we plan to have at LDK-2021
(http://2021.ldk-conf.org/) on Sep 4th (virtualy or in Zaragoza) is coming
nearer in huge steps. In particular the discussion of scope and structure
of the event would be a relatively urgent topic to discuss. (There is a
draft agenda, of course, but we would like to elicit more case studies,
potential applications and required features.)

For this reason, I wanted to suggest a joint call at the regular slot in
already two weeks (Thu, July 1st, 11:00-12:00 CEST, Berlin time) in two
weeks to discuss primarily our contributions and plans for the LDK meeting
and to give all of us an update on how things have been developing since
the last call. Another topic to be discussed there live (and until then
via email) is to find a new slot and rhythm for follow-up telcos, as well
as setting up possible sub-telcos as those suggested by Joel and Bridget.

This is not the formal invitation yet (which will come next week and also
with an updated agenda document), but just a request for interest and
availability, as well as for suggestions about possible alternative time
slots. Please respond in email to both me (christian.chiarcos@gmail.com)
and Thierry (declerck@dfki.de), if we receive multiple requests to move
the call, we can set up a Doodle to find a more suitable slot.

All the best, thanks a lot for your continued interest, and stay safe,
Christian
