I do not have time to follow up on this, but an inquiry this morning on xsl-list about translating vCard information into XML makes me think of a potentially useful source of ideas for sample ixml grammars and/or applications to be added to our collections: Any database of file-format information will list scores or hundreds of file formats, some of which will be text-based or mostly text-based and more or less readily amenable to description with a grammar. Of course, some work is involved: - sifting through a collection of file-format information to find a format that seems worth spending time on and potentially interesting to people looking into ixml - finding samples of that format - finding or reverse-engineering a grammar for the format - adjusting the grammar to make it parse the samples and produce plausible-looking XML But when any members of the community group find themselves casting about for a way to help promote ixml, I think finding useful formats to describe in the samples/ directory, together with supporting materials, is a very good use of time. And if anyone knows a defined format they would like to handle with ixml and for which they are willing to gather materials, but would like to collaborate on the development of the grammar itself, then please be in touch.
