#101: Section 5.1 should only list "garbage" Comment (by duerst@…): The LEIRI section has been negotiated carefully with the XML Core WG of the W3C. The text makes it clear that <leiri-ucschar> replaces <ucschar> ("The syntax of Legacy Extended IRIs is the same as that for <IRI- reference>, except that the ucschar production is replaced by the leiri- ucschar production:"). There's no strong reason in the above comment to change this, so I prefer to keep it as is. U+FFFE and U+FFFF are not listed because XML excludes them (see http://www.w3.org/TR/xml/#NT-Char) already. What is now the section on "Characters Disallowed or Not Recommended in IRIs" once was part of the LEIRI section; this got lost when we tried to deal with HTML(5) issues in the same place. My preference is to merge the LEIRI section and "Characters Disallowed or Not Recommended in IRIs" and go back to what we had agreed to with the XML people beforehand. -- ------------------------+--------------------------------------- Reporter: masinter@… | Owner: draft-ietf-iri-3987bis@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: minor | Milestone: Component: 3987bis | Version: Severity: - | Resolution: Keywords: | ------------------------+--------------------------------------- Ticket URL: <http://trac.tools.ietf.org/wg/iri/trac/ticket/101#comment:1> iri <http://tools.ietf.org/wg/iri/>
