URI testing

Hello, I have been reviewing different Java libraries for implementation of RFC 3986.

During research I have found Mike Brown [mike@skew.org] tests published here:

I had questions about lines 2,3,4,5,6,7 and asked author (mike) to explain
expected values for these tests. However he seems to be out of IT now,
so he pointed me to this mailing.

Please can anyone help me and explain http://skew.org/uri/uri_tests.html lines 2 to 7 and
confirm the test case expected results are really based on the RFC ?

Do you have some newer testcases for URIs ?
