I have just noticed the following sentence in section 1.2: IRIs are designed to be compatible with recent recommendations for new URI schemes [RFC2718]. RFC 2718 is dated 1999, so it can't be called 'recent' any longer. I have therefore created the issue RFC2718-nonrecent-43 (http://www.w3.org/International/iri-edit#RFC2718-nonrecent-43), have removed the word 'recent', and have closed this issue. Regards, Martin.
