Thanks for starting this, Mark. I'm Jon Callas, Director of Technology Projects at the Electronic Frontier Foundation. My group does policy work on tech issues including the things Cory mentioned; we produce the software EFF releases including Privacy Badger, Certbot, and The Atlas of Surveillance. I've been involved security and privacy for a long time. I was a co-founder of PGP and Blackphone, have worked on standards in the IETF, W3C, and ISO. I am very interested in interoperability for all the reasons others here have stated. I'm located in Pacific time zone (UTC-8 presently).
