EPUB and JavaScript

Interactive Media Community Group,

Hello. As JavaScript is important for EPUB digital gamebooks and other interactive media scenarios, I am pleased to share with you a new Publishing Community Group issue which presents some ideas about how content providers could express that a particular version, or rendition, of an EPUB publication requires JavaScript: https://github.com/w3c/publishingcg/issues/31 .

The new issue broaches EPUB's multiple renditions capabilities (https://w3c.github.io/epub-specs/epub33/multi-rend/) and adding an attribute to the model, "rendition:requires", with which content providers could express that a particular rendition of an EPUB publication requires JavaScript, or, more granularly, certain JavaScript features.

Best regards,
Adam Sobieski

P.S.: I'm still working on our group's charter document (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xfXmMLCyPgl2uPU1i2yZWX5cg_M6WJ-Raqodvll5LPs/) and considering writing in the section about specifications (highlighted) that our group will, at first, be a discussion group and interest group, coordinating with other groups, as needed, while brainstorming and coming up with ideas for reports and specifications. I'm also considering how best to modify our charter document to make it easier for the group to modify and update it at any point. Any thoughts on this?
