Announcement new a11yi18n community group Call for Participation in Accessibility Internationalization Community Group<https://www.w3.org/community/global-inclusion/2024/03/15/call-for-participation-in-accessibility-internationalization-community-group/> W3C Team<https://www.w3.org/community/global-inclusion/author/steam/> | Posted on: <https://www.w3.org/community/global-inclusion/2024/03/15/call-for-participation-in-accessibility-internationalization-community-group/> March 15, 2024<https://www.w3.org/community/global-inclusion/2024/03/15/call-for-participation-in-accessibility-internationalization-community-group/> The Accessibility Internationalization Community Group<https://www.w3.org/community/global-inclusion/> has been launched: ________________________________ The mission of the Accessibility Internationalization Community Group is to improve the internationalization of: -The Cognitive and Learning Disabilities Accessibility (COGA) Task Force -The Accessibility Guidelines Working Group (AG) Scope The Accessibility Internationalization Community Group will include the following efforts: -Improve the internationalization of COGA and AG publications. -Develop criteria and tests for easy-to-understand language in different languages. -Develop criteria and tests for text appearance and semantics in different writing systems -Develop criteria and tests for additional guidance that changes based on additional language, writing system, or culture. The community group’s initial focus is to help internationalize two accessibility resources that are currently in development: -The next version of Making Content Usable for People with Cognitive and Learning Disabilities -WCAG 3.0, with two guidelines as the top priorities: “Clear Language” and “Text Appearance and Semantics,” which will have tests and criteria in different languages. ________________________________ In order to join the group<https://www.w3.org/community/global-inclusion/join>, you will need a W3C account<https://www.w3.org/accounts/request>. Please note, however, that W3C Membership<https://www.w3.org/community/about/faq/#is-w3c-membership-required-to-participate-in-a-community-or-business-group> is not required to join a Community Group. This is a community initiative. This group was originally proposed on 2024-03-14 by Lisa Seeman-Horwitz. The following people supported its creation: Lisa Seeman-Horwitz, Leandro S. Guedes, Jan McSorley, Rachael Bradley Montgomery, Tiffany Burtin. W3C’s hosting of this group does not imply endorsement of the activities.
