For several months, we’ve been discussing the possibility of moving most of the User Context module into a Media Feature syntax. We came to a general consensus in the last working group conference call, and this week I’ve completed a ground-up rewrite of the editor’s draft. Among other benefits to the new approach, I believe we finally have a solid privacy model for exposing the user context information in a logical way without being vulnerable to fingerprinting attacks. The draft is still incomplete and very rough, but I believe it’s complete enough now to share and discuss in our cross-functional meetings with the CSS and WebApps working groups during the W3C TPAC conference next week in Shenzhen. Here’s the latest editor’s draft. https://dvcs.w3.org/hg/IndieUI/raw-file/default/src/indie-ui-context.html
