Immersive Web Working Group Charter Approved; Call for Participation

The Advisory Committee review of the proposed Immersive Web Working
Group charter previously announced here [1] has concluded successfully
and the Working Group has now been officially launched.

Chairs,

The Director is pleased to announce the chartering of the Immersive Web
Working Group:
   https://www.w3.org/2018/09/immersive-web-wg-charter.html

This group is chartered until 1 March 2020.

The mission of the Immersive Web Working Group is to help bring
high-performance Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR)
(collectively known as XR) to the open Web via APIs to interact with XR
devices and sensors in browsers.

Use the following form to join the group. The form will also instruct
you how to nominate participants:

The chairs are Ada Rose Cannon (Samsung) and Chris Wilson (Google). The
team contact is Dominique Hazael-Massieux (0.2 FTE).

As indicated in the call for review of the charter, the first
face-to-face meeting will happen at TPAC 2018, on October 25-26.

We called for charter review on 16 August 2018:

Thanks to the 37 Members who reviewed the charter:

The 37 reviewing Members supported the charter, including 2 who
suggested changes. The requests were satisfied by the addition of
coordination with the Audio Working Group.
