If I can add one more to the group Mark mentioned, https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-klensin-idna-rfc5891bis/ is also under discussion; it was Last Called in 2019, stalled, and is being brought back. Its primary goal is to discuss how registries determine what DNS labels will be allowed within the context of internationalized domain names, so it will impact the authority section of URIs if approved. regards, Ted Hardie On Wed, Oct 9, 2024 at 2:13 AM Mark Nottingham <mnot@mnot.net> wrote: > There are a couple of drafts that touch on i18n concerns being discussed > in the IETF right now: > > * https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-bray-unichars/ > * > https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-bormann-dispatch-modern-network-unicode/ > > The former is AD-sponsored, whereas the latter has not yet been adopted. > They're both being discussed on the ART list: > > https://mailman3.ietf.org/mailman3/lists/art@ietf.org/ > > I suspect that input from W3C i18n folks would be most welcome. > > Cheers, > > -- > Mark Nottingham https://www.mnot.net/ > > >
