[11]next meeting - time zone change * [12]Summary of Action Items _________________________________________________________ action items <scribe> ACTION: All to try to compile a list of work item for the new charter (DROPPED) [recorded in [13]http://www.w3.org/2006/10/25-i18nits-minutes.html#action01] Yves: Felix discussed this with Philippe and Richard ... the idea now is to extend the charter for a year ... is it already decided? Felix: not decided, but very likely ... we would continue the current work items ... and start no new ones Christian: fine with me as well <scribe> ACTION: Christian to come up with paragraph and answer to Felix w/r desciption of the compatibility test format (DONE) [recorded in [14]http://www.w3.org/2006/10/25-i18nits-minutes.html#action02] Christian: is this still relevant? Could we still modify the implementation report <YvesS> Proposal from Christian: [[During the CR phase, the WG will conduct further tests for ITS Markup Declarations <YvesS> and ITS Processing Expectations. With regard to the latter, the WG will compare the results]] Yves: I pasted above Christians proposal in IRC <YvesS> (given in the format mentioned above) of the implementations of Conformance Type 2. current text is at [15]http://www.w3.org/International/its/itstagset/ImpReport.html [15] http://www.w3.org/International/its/itstagset/ImpReport.html <chriLi> I just sent the alternative text to the public list discussion on the text proposal above / at [16]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its/2006OctDec/0 024.html [16] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its/2006OctDec/0024.html will be continued later (see below) <scribe> ACTION: Yves to setup teleconf with Tony (DONE) [recorded in [17]http://www.w3.org/2006/10/25-i18nits-minutes.html#action03] Yves: XLIFF people understood that we can't do much work before we get to CR ... we may get some implementation from them, I don't know how long it will take ... at this point it does not need to be listed as an implementation ... XLIFF people also produce guidelines saying how formats should be translated into XLIFF ... they are thinking of using ITS in these guidelines ... using ITS inside XLIFF was discussed as well ... there is nothing that prevents us doing that today Felix: should we produce for the BP document a section "ITS + XLIFF"? Yves: yes, good point. Yves: they will mention all activities on their next call and f2f <clieske> keep in mind that we have two types of relationship between ITS and XLIFF <clieske> relationship 1: ITS as bridgehead for producing XLIFF <clieske> relationship 2: ITS within (or as a rules file) for XLIFF Felix: should W3C / me do s.t. about this topic? Yves: Christian and Andrzej are both in the XLIFF TC, that should be enough Transition Request to CR made [18]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/member-i18n-its/2006OctDec/0 022.html [18] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/member-i18n-its/2006OctDec/0022.html Felix: mail from Richard "Typo in 6.2.2" ... I will fix it Yves: we got private feedback from Jirka ... should we change that now? <clieske> Aside on relationship ITS/XLIFF: I am the XLIFF TC liason person to the W3C Felix: not good to change s.t. now, since we sent the CR mail (except typos). We will change that later ... schematron is also informative, no need to implement Jirkas comments now Yves: on CR preparation: I hope we don't have to get back to WD ... I don't think our changes produce a need to go back ... I am also worried about participation Felix: is no problem for now, I think, but we need to make participation criteria more clear after the charter extension test suite Felix test suite implementation during CR, and editing Felix: I will edit until the end of this week, after that , somebody else needs to edit, otherwise the document will not be changed until December Yves: on the test suite ... some questions, see my mail at [19]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its/2006OctDec/0 022.html [19] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its/2006OctDec/0022.html <YvesS> [20]http://www.w3.org/International/its/tests/expected/EX-locNote-el ement-1-result.xml [20] http://www.w3.org/International/its/tests/expected/EX-locNote-element-1-result.xml Yves: what information would be need in the output? ... for example, the implementation might make no difference whether localization information is produced via a reference or an attribute with the text Felix: my proposal: <output its:locNoteRef="someReference"/> <output its:locNote="Some loc note"/> Yves: how does this work with "pointer" attributes? ... from a "real world" application , you don't want to know the pointer attribute ... I would not be able to produce the pointer information in my output Felix: good point, we might drop the pointer information during November Yves: I will be away. You should built the test suite and do implementation work ... we need to go through feedback we get, like the one from Jirka, and fix things in the spec ... and we need to do the markup implementation Felix: I can do the markup implementation ... should we have regular calls? Christian: yes, but I have to miss two of them Felix: let's have a regular call, we might use it mainly for implementation discussion back to [21]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its/2006OctDec/0024 .html [21] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its/2006OctDec/0024.html Yves: Felix said that the statement "the WG will conduct further tests for ITS Markup Declarations" does not refer to parts of the test suite ... so we should not mention ITS Markup Declarations in this section <YvesS> [22]http://www.w3.org/International/its/itstagset/ImpReport.html [22] http://www.w3.org/International/its/itstagset/ImpReport.html Christian: fine with taking "ITS Markup Declarations" out of my proposal Felix: fine by me, I will make that change after Monday (the CR call) <scribe> ACTION: Felix to adopt [23]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its/2006OctDec/0 024.html with todays discussion after the CR call [recorded in [24]http://www.w3.org/2006/10/25-i18nits-minutes.html#action04] [23] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its/2006OctDec/0024.html other business some outreach material at [25]http://www.w3.org/QA/2006/10/how_i_explained_its_to_my_chil.html [25] http://www.w3.org/QA/2006/10/how_i_explained_its_to_my_chil.html Christian: I created "how to explain ITS to my boss" ... if you have other material, please tell me if you have other stuff ... will be useful for the tekom next meeting - time zone change Yves: don't forget Summary of Action Items [DROPPED] ACTION: All to try to compile a list of work item for the new charter [recorded in [26]http://www.w3.org/2006/10/25-i18nits-minutes.html#action01] [NEW] ACTION: Felix to adopt [27]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its/2006OctDec/0 024.html with todays discussion after the CR call [recorded in [28]http://www.w3.org/2006/10/25-i18nits-minutes.html#action04] [27] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its/2006OctDec/0024.html [DONE] ACTION: Christian to come up with paragraph and answer to Felix w/r desciption of the compatibility test format [recorded in [29]http://www.w3.org/2006/10/25-i18nits-minutes.html#action02] [DONE] ACTION: Yves to setup teleconf with Tony [recorded in [30]http://www.w3.org/2006/10/25-i18nits-minutes.html#action03] [End of minutes] _________________________________________________________ Minutes formatted by David Booth's [31]scribe.perl version 1.127 ([32]CVS log) $Date: 2006/10/25 15:12:07 $ [31] http://dev.w3.org/cvsweb/~checkout~/2002/scribe/scribedoc.htm [32] http://dev.w3.org/cvsweb/2002/scribe/
