------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Indicators of translatibility may be used for helping translation tools in the creation of ''localization properties'' files (i.e. tools settings describing how to handle a given type of document from the viewpoint of localization). They can also be used to complement the localization properties by adding information in document instances.

- '''[[[AZ''' Should we make mention here of the requirement for a ''Localization Directives'' standard that would allow using an XML vocabulary to precisely define what requires translation and what does not require translation in a given XML document. Candidate mechanisms for this would be Schematron or CAM (http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=cam) ''']]]'''
-
- '''[[YS-''' see the addition above. I didn't though going into the details of how Loc prop could be done was important for this requirement, so i didn't mentionned CAM or schematron.''']]'''

The information about the parts of a document that are translatable is not limited to localization. Such information can be used in other contexts. For instance when implementing Accessibility features, it can be used to identify content that need to be process differently from the rest of the document.
