I found a nice example of letter spacing in Devanagari during a recent trip to India. This is a large sign in metal on a very important museum, so I think there is a high chance this is typographically correct. The sign on the wall on the left side of the door is letter-spaced https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0j1Gd7-iOWtdG1PMjdDdXBPa1k/edit?usp=sharing (You can click the 100% button to zoom in.) My observations: - letter-spacing in Devanagari does happen, but is not very common - the top bar is broken - "letter" space is added between orthographic syllables (for example, at the start of the 2nd line there is no space between the letter SA and the dependent vowel sign AA) Hope this is of interest, James
