Nevertheless I would like to give my feedback. I think a good bidi-phrase would be "w3c ... IN 7 POINTS" to be rendered in Arabic in RTL "STNIOP 7 NI ... w3c". It's a good phrase because it also contains punctiation between RTL and LTR. --- The problem --- I've already experienced the problem with this phrase as a title in the arabic version of W3C in 7 points "http://www.w3c.org.ma/7points/". After some tests I found that the title element (as well as title/alt attribute) are treated in LTR. Adding dir="rtl" in the title element seems to have no effect. I thought of a browsers bug. Browsers have little differences when rendering this phrase. Moreover, some of them make difference between title element and title attribute. Windowing system may also have a role. For example, in some situation, Mozilla15 for MacOSX put its logo "Mozilla" juste between "w3c" and "STNIOP 7 NI ...". It seems like if mozilla has concatenated its logo with "w3c" before displaying the Arabic part of the title! --- The solution--- I found two solutions: 1- Type "manually" the phrase in a "RTL" ordering: "IN 7 POINTS ... w3c" 2- Use the pair of unicode control characters RLE/PDF (‫ ‬) to force the titles to RTL mode. I lean to 2.
