Apologies for delay in forwarding these. My fault. As always, many thanks to Deborah for creating the minutes. RI MINUTES: I18N GEO TF telcon, 2004-10-13 at 16:00 UTC/GMT, 9am Seattle, 12noon Boston, 17:00 London, 18:00 Paris, 2am Melbourne Attendees: Deborah Cawkwell (BBC) Richard Ishida (W3C, Chair) Russ Rolfe (Microsoft) Apologies: Susan Miller (Boeing) Scribe: Deborah Cawkwell (BBC) AGENDA http://www.w3.org/International/2003/plan.html Additional Items: None. Info Share: Meetings: With daylight savings clock change, time moves to one hour later subject to no objections. RI to email notice. Review of GEO Work Items: Addressing of comments on SM's localization/globalization FAQ delayed. Discussions: Browser functionality: - Uniscribe issue in IE. DC to send information to RR. - good RSS feature in Firefox 1.0 - Bidi in title bar. Neither tools tips nor title bar gets directionality. Dependent on application or OS? - Scrollbar issue: when dir attribute in HTML - which is best practice - IE moves scrollbar to left-hand side and right-aligns HTML page. On RI's trip to Morocco (attended by NT), one group meeting felt it should be UI not document-dependent. A further question is what happens to scrollbars within a web document. - Useful CSS Lang attribute used by Firefox. - CSS 3 properties, but standard still in flux. New members required. Some outstanding tests for Safari and IE Mac, especially 'hreflang', for Techniques document to be published Friday. http://www.w3.org/International/geo/html-tech/tech-lang.html#ri20040429.113217290 http://www.w3.org/International/geo/html-tech/tech-lang.html#ri20030112.224458239 RR to check out machines for testing IE on Macs.
