Using common strings will insert translations at run time Tool also allows addition of translations for your specific needs or languages that are not offered by MS There is some contextual awareness to help with homonyms Looking for orgs to participate in beta test - need to register to use Looking for small to medium companies that can't afford proper translation but would like to provide 'gist' translations creates an XML file for text it doesn't recognise RI: could be useful for pseudo localization tests Authoring techniques doc publication Tex and Russ voiced no objections to publication. This means that we now have agreement from Deborah, Martin, Tex, Russ, Andrew, Richard, Pete, and Steve. Meeting times Agreed to move to one hour later - same day (Wednesday) but now 1400 GMT. Comments on previous version of techniques doc Agreed to send responses by RI to comments from Bert Bos, Charles McAthieNeville, Liam Quinn and François Yergeau. Discussed first few of Karl Dubost's comments. See forthcoming mail for details. Work items Briefly reviewed upcoming work items. Deborah has asked people to review her proposed FAQ "Why should I use the 'lang' attribute?" and send comments to the list. We will review in the weekly meeting on 26 May. Russ will begin a section for the guidelines on Time & Date, building on the current information and the recent mail exchange. Tex and Deborah working on article "Character encoding & bytes" - discuss some more next week. Deborah working on tests. ACTION: RI, add deborah's work on tests to work items list.
